Cycling 88km across Singapore with children
Переглядів 7335 років тому
A completely human powered crossing of Singapore, from the West Coast to the East by our family in honor of Singapore National Day 2019. Our aim was to have an exploratory adventure together, to spend quality time together as a family exploring beautiful parts of Singapore by our own human power. We made our own route which avoided roads as much as possible and utulised park connector networks ...

    Thanks. Definitely helpful. I'm not sure if I should get the Sea Eagle Fast Track 465 or the Explorer 420X. Good to know there is still the option of drain holes on the Fast Track. I plan to do mostly flat water, but some of the rivers around here have class I, II and III. The Fast Track is only recommended up to class II. The Fast Track tracks better, is faster and won't be blown around as much as the Explorer due to smaller diameter tubes. But the explorer has 16 drain holes and is better on white water. Guess I'll go with the Explorer to be safer in white water, but slower on the flat water.

    • @NasirKhan-ix1he

      About eleven thousand feet of climbing from base to the top. The top of this peak is 28,000 feet above sea level and in upper part of K2 there is very little oxygen.

    It doesn't look so technical from Tibet yet it seems way longer, you spend more time at higher altitudes and farther away from any help most of the time than in the south route. It must be amazing to do mixed climb from one side and return from the other. Has anyone done this?

    • @GrantAxeRawlinson
      @GrantAxeRawlinson 3 місяці тому

      Yes doing a full traverse would be awesome but the problem with this is that the border of tibet and nepal is on the summit and getting permission to ascend one route and descend the other side is practically impossible it seems these days.

    they charge like $10,000 per permit from the climbers, why cant the gov build a decent road, provide infrastructure, set up a helicopter base, hire veteran sherpas nd mountaineers for the climbing season to be available for rescues at the nearest village. there is so much that could be done to make these remote areas easy to access so that more ppl would want to come and spend money which an only be good for pakistan especially for the poor locals.

    • @NasirKhan-ix1he
      @NasirKhan-ix1he 5 місяців тому

      Helicopters service is available but most climbers opt for walking to acclimatise. Roads cannot be built on glaciers. There are roads that take you close to other mountains such as Nanga Parpat, Rakaposhi and Tirich Mir. But K2 is located in a remote area surrounded by Goodwin Austin glacier and mighty baltoro glacier. Baltoro glacier is more than 60 kilometers long.

    Between camp 3 and the summit there’s something like 20 bodies, and down the cliff face beneath the steps is the rainbow valley. Called that due to the different colors of down suits scattered across the valley, lots and lots of corpses: something like 150 on the north side
